Engage Today Conference

My name is Eddie Yu and I’ve been an Entrepreneur for a while, actually since 2001.

Though I started my first successful business in 2001, my first foray into the world of entrepreneurship was back in 1999 when I tried to setup a ski touring company, which failed before it even began.I didn’t quit though, and throughout my working career I had also done side jobs to earn extra income. It hadn’t occurred to me that I was actually being entrepreneurial!

It wasn’t until I had a life changing trip to Egypt when I realised that I wanted to be my own boss and decided to make plans later that year and started on a journey that I haven’t yet stopped.Amongst all the highs and lows of being in business and the growth and learning I’ve taken from all the lessons, some of the greatest times have been during this period.

I am fortunate enough now at this stage that I’ve had various experiences, including participating in the Engage Today conference where I saw my idol Sir Richard Branson, and a world spiritual leader the Dalai Lama.

In fact, if you had asked me about a year ago what I’d be doing, I certainly wouldn’t have been able to even suggest such an idea.The last 12 months has been a rollercoaster ride of serious expansion, both of the mind and of my business.

I’ve finally realised that in order to create more massive positive change in the world, and to inspire my own friends and family to also pursue the same agenda, I had to step up and play a bigger game.
